Bruce Wallace joined his mother Patricia Wallace in the industry back in 1972, where they were initially situated down near the South Eastern Hotel which was then known as East Way Dry Cleaners. Then followed the purchase of Ameraclean in 1980 and amalgamated the 2 businesses on Commercial Street. Bruce then amalgamated the three businesses into one with Joy in 1998, and is now Park Drycleaners at its current site at 157 commercial St West.
Bruce and his passion for the industry was recognised when he won a national Dry Cleaners Award in 1987 and with this won an overseas study course in Harrowgate (UK) to further enhance his skills and knowledge in the industry. Bruce has also served on the board of the Dry Cleaning Institute of Australia, of which he is still a current member of - Bruce is the only member in Mount Gambier.
Today at Park Drycleaners there is a wide range of services available, and not just the dry cleaning side of the business. Services including: Dustmat Hire, Household Furnishings Cleaning, Industrial Workwear Hire and the only "Prestige Preservation" Wedding Gown Preservation in the Limestone Coast and Western Victoria.
